Triplet 2.8/78 Review

"Triplet" is the name of the optical design, which invention in the late XIX century helped reduce the cost of lens production. Accordingly, the spread of photography in general since everyone can afford to buy an inexpensive camera. In the Soviet Union, lenses with the name “Triplet” produced for inexpensive amateur cameras and slide projectors.
There is a whole range of Cooke Triplet design lenses for overhead projectors. What are the most common:
Triplet 2.8 / 75
Triplet 2.8 / 78
Triplet-3 2.8 / 80
Triplet-5 2.8 / 100
Triplet-6 2.8 / 150
Triar-3 2.8 / 85
All of them were produced with different barrel designs and at different factories. So, review the Triplet 2.8/78. There is evidence that this lens conceals an image circle for frame 6x6 cm, but for me, it’s not relevant. I'm going to use it on the DSLR camera with an ASP/C sensor. Mechanically my lens is perfectly assembled in the metal barrel, with a large hood, which protects it from the sidelight. The backside has a long tube with a screw thread; apparently, using it in a slide projector could focus. To mount the Triplet 2.8 / 78 on the camera, it must be adapted.
