Nikon AF Nikkor 28-80mm f / 3.5-5.6 AF-D is a kit zoom lens for film cameras Nikon F. Produces only two years, from 1999 through 2001, after which it was replaced by a Nikon AF Nikkor 28-80mm 1: 3.3-5.6 G.

Nikon AF Nikkor 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-D Handling and Mechanics
The lens is made of plastic, has a wide rubberized zoom ring.
The lens has autofocus, also provided a narrow plastic ring for manual focus, placed in front. Still, to work in manual mode is inconvenient, and the focusing ring rotated about 45 degrees.
There is also an aperture ring manual setup.
Zooming to a range of an 80mm lens extends approximately 3cm when focusing front element rotates.
During 8 years of active use, it stayed well, minimal backlash, erasers all great powers. It cannot be said about some modern lenses like a Tamron SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8, where after a year of use, the zoom ring gum swells.

As can be seen, color reproduction weighs closer to the film, the colors are not as saturated as modern kit lenses, but there is something positive.

I have used this lens for about 6 years on the camera Nikon D70s.

It is associated with the best memories, and I liked it more than the Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1: 3.5-5.6GII ED. Yet, for APS-C sensor cameras angle focal length of 28 mm is not enough.
